Editor
Joseph Alach
Description (croatian)
Description (english)
Vjesnik is a monthly newspaper that was published in Auckland from April to July 1946, mainly in the Croatian language (there were also shorter texts in English in each issue). The editor and publisher was Joseph Alach. Each of the four published issues had eight pages. As stated on the first page of the first issue, some of the goals of Vjesnik were to independently report on all events, to support the People's Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and to connect all Slavs in New Zealand. At the end of the fourth issue, the editor explains the reasons why the newspaper will no longer be published - the disagreement of the community, the large number of those who "damaged our unity". The editor also announces a book in which "the work of our organizations and people" will be described. It is not known if this book was ever published.
